Fish Gallery
This is where I have all
my pictures of my fish.
There will be updates when
we add a new fish, which
could be soon since we are
desperately in need of a
catfish and some snails to
clean up the junk the goldfish
leave behind.Goldfish are notorious
fish for being very dirty.
They are the pigs of the
fish world. But they are
very fun to watch and
they are colourful and bright.
Someday I hope to set up a Saltwater tank.
But, we are waiting till
we move somewhere larger,
my husband wants to have a
500 gallon tank and it just won't fit
in here..

This little black fish's name is NOIR.
That's Black in French. (IIRC) He also has a twin
who's name is Svart.
That's Black in Swedish.
I don't prounounce it in Sveirge,
I just call him Svart rhymes with Bart as in Simpson. This photo is hard to see,
but they have telescope or bulging eyes.
They aren't bubble eyed, those fish has actual skin pockets filled with air that are attached
to their eyelids. Won't ever find those in
my tank. Goldfish are sensitive enough, and
those fish are supersensitive...plus IMHO I
think they are kind ugLEEE.

This is "Big MO" He is a Creamsicle coloured Oranda too!
Man Big MO is the Boss of the tank! He eats the most makes the biggest mess, and I think he is the reason why the snail is no longer...I think Big MO had escargot.;)

Sadly Big Mo is no longer with us, we had a ammonia
problem in the tank, he contracted a disease and passed on. Oranda's are like a canary in a coal mine, if the canary dies....you have a BIG problem..
The tank is all better now, and we will be getting some more fish ASAP.
This is "Freckles" My Calico Ryukin

Freckles is the tank weany
or the opposite of Mo.
He is shy,and delicate.
He is pretty friendly though.
My husband picked him out at
Tropic Isle, the fish store
where we get all of our fish.

This is one of our new FISHY's. I have named this one after a goldfish I used to have (pre fire 99 see my fireworks page for more info, at http://ivantheterrible.freeservers.com)

Her name was Clementine. This one I am calling
Clemmy---although you really don't call a fish now do you ? I feed Clem and all his friends a diet of
white rice, green peas, shrimp, and Oscar Gold floating type fish food. This food has a special
colour enhancer in it to make the fish brighter. Since starting them on this food, they have really gotten much more active and colourful. I highly reccomend this food. It's good for all tropical fish, goldfish and Koi. And since it floats there is less wasted food. I typically vacuum the fish tank once a month. I do water changes weekly. I add water daily since we happen to have the top mostly open for aeration a lot evaporates. I also highly reccomend having live plants in your freshwater tank. Not only do they enhance the tank itself, they make the fish feel at HOME !! You can't enjoy your home without a cozy seat....well fish need places to hide in and have babies. (I hope!!)
if we do happen to get lucky and have babies--I'll post piccies, of course. And most likely I'll have to start another tank a smaller one just until the babies are big enough to defend themselves.

This picture below is Clem's buddy Julious.
get it Orange Julious....oh never mind.

Fish lookin to be fed...
Trust me, I already fed them they just don't remember..Goldfish have a 3 second memory. Every three seconds BAM everything is new again...:)
Which explains why they always are looking around and think they have't yet eaten. I feed my goldfish a well balanced diet of mushed peas, rice, shrimp, and flake food. Occasionally they eat beta bites...which are actually crushed up worm. I don't feed them anything live. If I did I would have to raise it myself...not crazy about buying worms/getting them from the garden because of the fertilizer that may be in
FEEED US!!
